Material Director

Our Client is a subsidiary of a diversified conglomerate headquartered in China. Specializing in the research, development, and production of high-precision metal parts and plastic sheets for vehicle applications, the company operates factories in multiple countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Germany, the United States, and China.

Recently, our Client has ventured into the production of plastic sheets for vehicle applications, supporting a world leading electric vehicle (EV) company in its electric vehicle manufacturing endeavors.

·      Plan and direct the overall production plan for the company.

·      Plan and direct material procurement activities in supporting of forecasted numbers.

·      Provide leadership for the day-to-day operations of the Materials department.

·      Accountable for smooth running of the Materials department.

·      To advise on whether machine’s capacity is enough based on customer’s model and demand requirement.

·      To monitor and ensure that the Material department works within the yearly budgeted cost.

·      To liaise with customer on the demands and consumption pull of the forecasted numbers.

·      To determine the best possible time and price for placing blanket order for material procurement.

·      Provide material pricing trend review every quarterly to top management.

·      Continually improvement of cost down scale to supplier in accordance to cost down request from customer.

·      Provide leadership on sourcing for alternative source for more stable supply and competitive pricing.

·      Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all Materials department employees

• Minimum Qualification : Diploma/Degree in Engineering with 10 years materials management
