Job Responsibilities

As a Procurement Manager, Automotive Manufacturer, this individual will lead all aspects of business management as it relates to Strategic Sourcing and optimizing total value and quality. In conjunction with impacted stakeholders, this position is responsible to execute and deliver optimal value in meeting business requirements, managing supplier relationships and subsequent supplier performance. Scope of assignment includes but not limited to ensuring data collection, market analysis, sourcing, cost model analysis, sourcing award, implementation across various functional areas, contract administration and compliance monitoring for assigned categories as applicable. Working with the appropriate functional team members, the Procurement Manager will provide leadership and oversight for the direct or indirect assigned categories.

  • Manage team and all sourcing activities/processes for designated categories, reduce the total cost of ownership while increasing overall value
  • Engage the supply base and internal partners to identify and implement supply optimization strategies, operational strategies and cost reduction initiatives
  • Provide procurement oversight and support to all functional areas, ensuring procurement representation and participation in all issues related to meeting business requirements
  • Analyze market trends and report substantial issues / resolution plan(s) to management if applicable
  • Develop and implement strategies that meet and support the business objectives (i.e. commodity & supplier strategies, projects....as applicable)
  • Resolve issues related to quality, cost, delivery; Mitigate supply risk
  • Manage and enhance supplier performance through standardized processes and continuous improvement efforts impacting quality, cost, delivery and service, in support multiple locations and/or functional areas
  • Develop team to increase effectiveness (business, financial and legal acumen)


Experience requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain and/or related area required; advanced degree preferred
  • Strategic and Operational Procurement Leadership (7+ Years) with proven working experience as a procurement manager and leader/developer of talent
  • Strong leadership and teammate development capabilities
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
  • Talent in negotiations and networking
  • Experienced in collecting and analyzing data; aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
