Job Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting (70%)

• Maintain the general ledger and all other supporting ledgers to ensure financial information is up to date, correctly presented and prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

• Administer approved general accounting practices to ensure accounting, financial and operating reports accurately reflect the conditions of the business.

• Maintain of the accounts payable ledger and supervise banking and cashiering activities.

• Take responsibility for all bank arrangements including overseeing payments to staff and suppliers ensuring all documentation is checked for accuracy, review bank reconciliations, obtain bank guarantees where necessary and manage cash position to ensure any cash draw downs are made on a timely basis.

• Prepare tax returns as required.

• Take responsibility for all aspects of cost management and adherence to budget (including capital expenditure), ensuring all stakeholders are provided with accurate and timely reporting.

2. Management Accounting (20%)

• Prepare monthly financial reports for senior management ensuring reports and the underlying financial information is completed accurately, on time and in appropriate forms.

• Provide senior management with reliable information necessary to control the operation.

• Prepare club operating and financial statements, budgets and forecasts.

• Prepare periodic statements of indirect costs by departments and accounts.

• Participate in the modification of reporting formats and schedules of accounts.

• Provide costing and financial analysis as directed.

• Prepare all management and financial reports including sales, retention, profit and loss, budget reconciliation, cash budget, balance sheet, reconciliation and additions, creditor and debtor summary.

3. Human Resource Management (10%)

• In consultation with the General Manager, Head of Finance and/or People Manager, Asia Pacific, assist in setting HR processes and policies;

• Control and coordinate activities such as personnel administration, labour relations, pay administration, benefits, and activities relating to any local equal opportunity employment laws.

• Administer remuneration policies and internal remuneration anomalies.

• Liaise with employer groups, industry associations, government authorities and other relevant bodies as required.

Experience requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years accounting experience.
  • Experience in general ledger and purchase ledger maintenance.
  • Experience in setting up finance processes, controls and systems
  • Experience with handling sensitive information with discretion
  • Experience in a multi-site environment desirable
  • Exposure to a subscriber-based industry desirable
  • Working knowledge of local accounting legislation
  • Knowledge of best practice for The Company policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication (in-person)
  • MS Office (Excel) – advanced
