The IOC Athlete Career Programme in cooperation with Adecco supports young champions at Nanjing Youth Olympic Games Workshops and new digital app introduced on time management and networking to develop athletes’ skills beyond sports.

confirms its commitment to the life skills development of young athletes at the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games in China from August 16th to 28th. Over 12 days, young athletes are offered dedicated workshops on time management and networking, as well as a new digital app, to support them in their talent and career development beyond sports and competition.
As part of the IOC’s Culture & Education Programme (CEP), the IOC Athlete Career Programme in cooperation with Adecco is providing 15 to 18-year-old athletes participating in the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games in China with a new online app, workshops and facilitated discussion to support them with life skills and talent development beyond sports and competitions. Over 3,800 young athletes from 204 nations and regions are participating in 28 sports at the Nanjing YOG. The Adecco ACP workshop ‘Act on your time’ is designed to support the champions with good time management practices, while ‘Balance your act’ will teach them how to capitalise on the supportive network around them. The ACP activities are part of the IOC's ’Learn & Share’ zone in the Youth Olympic Village, which offers athletes valuable guidance on topics such as anti-doping, fair play, injury prevention and how to be an inspiring role model.
The ACP workshops are delivered by Adecco and the IOC ACP team as well as members of the IOC Athletes’ Commission, supported by a team of 37 Athlete Role Models (ARMs). ARMs include many legendary Olympic and World champions, who play a key role in supporting, mentoring and offering advice to young athletes.
The Nanjing 2014 Culture and Education Programme (CEP) of which the ACP is a part, has been designed as a unique and impactful experience to inspire young participants about competing, learning and sharing. For this reason, beyond competition, the CEP focuses on developing athletes’ life skills, enabling them to become champions for life by learning from their peers as well as from Olympic role models.

Adecco previously offered training workshops through the IOC ACP at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore (2010) and Innsbruck (2012), reaching over 400 YOG participants.
