About the Company

Our client is a prominent petroleum producer based in Rayong, Thailand, recognized for its efficiency in the Asia Pacific region. They are seeking for Legal Counsel who thrives in dynamic team environments, adept at collaborating with both internal and external business and legal partners.

Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to grasp the company's strategies and priorities, delivering top-notch legal support to safeguard and advance its interests.
  • Develop, assess, and negotiate a range of contracts and legal documents, spanning from moderately complex to intricate agreements, including service, supply, purchase, government, sale, partnership, and shareholder contracts.
  • Address legal concerns and offer guidance in adherence to Thai laws, regulations, and internal policies, covering contracting, human resources, and HSE/operational protocols.
  • Provide articulate, well-prepared, and timely oral and written legal counsel on various matters such as contractual obligations, legal rights, claims, and legal ramifications of new legislation.
  • Analyze laws, rulings, and regulations, devising legal strategies and delivering counsel and advocacy on their implementation.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor within project and transaction teams, furnishing insights on legal issues, contract terms, policies, and potential claims.
  • Advise and assist in regulatory affairs, including government audits, investigations, and emergency response management.
  • Lead and oversee legal disputes, including the management of external legal counsel.
  • Efficiently select, engage, and oversee external legal counsel in accordance with company procedures, including budget management and cost control.
  • Contribute to the implementation of legal initiatives and provide training to clients on legal matters and compliance requirements.
  • Establish and update guidelines and policies while fostering a culture of compliance and upholding professional standards.
  • Manage corporate governance affairs and undertake any other tasks as delegated.
Experience requirements
  • Bachelor of Laws or higher. 
  • Minimum 7 years-experience with a valid license to practice law in Thailand.
  • Expertise and track record in contract drafting, delivering high-quality, timely, and client-focused legal support with a strong emphasis on compliance.
  • Demonstrated capacity to tackle and assess complex issues and tasks effectively.
  • Dedication to achieving results, with the ability to analyze, manage, and report on a wide range of intricate and diverse matters.
  • Proficiency in lateral thinking to generate innovative and pragmatic solutions.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who thrives in dynamic team environments, adept at collaborating with both internal and external business and legal partners.
  • Capable of working independently as well as part of a diverse team, demonstrating a collaborative and supportive attitude.
  • Upholds high ethical standards and maintains strict confidentiality.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and embrace flexibility to adapt to various roles and responsibilities for personal and professional growth.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Thai and English languages.
