Job Responsibilities
- Negotiate and draft legal documents to support business operations (employment, IT, advertising, labeling, consumer protection, sanctions, health & safety).
- Collaborate with SEA Cluster teams on legal matters, ensuring compliance with laws and prompt internal approvals.
- Work with the Compliance team to ensure adherence to anti-corruption laws and company policies.
- Partner with SEA Legal Director and Assistant General Counsel to deliver training and guidance for commercial management and employees.
- Build strong relationships across Asia, provide proactive legal advice, and manage external advisors. Translate documents between local and English languages.
- Address legal and regulatory issues related to products, contracts, taxes, IT, employment, and sanctions.
- Handle dispute resolution.
- Train local teams on legal matters, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
- Support operational teams in developing commercial plans while managing risk and maximizing advantage.
Experience requirements
- 8-10 years’ experience in FMCG or regulated sectors like alcohol, or pharmaceuticals
- Bachelor’s or higher in Law
- Fluent in English and able to communicate legal issues effectively.
- Strong local market knowledge, with cultural sensitivity and a solution-oriented mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork, and influence.
- Basic understanding of Intellectual Property and ability to assess legal and commercial risks for business objectives.
- Flexible to travel domestically and overseas.
