Job Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute legal strategies in alignment with the company’s business goals.
- Advise the board, executive leadership, and key stakeholders on legal and regulatory issues.
- Oversee compliance with industry regulations and uphold corporate governance standards.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and internal policies.
- Ensure legal documentation supports corporate objectives and minimizes risk exposure.
- Handle and resolve legal disputes, including managing litigation and arbitration processes.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel for effective management of legal proceedings.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies, external advisors, and industry organizations.
- Represent the company in legal and regulatory matters.
- Lead, guide, and enhance the capabilities of the Legal team.
Experience requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Law is mandatory
- 10 years of legal experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity, ideally within the insurance or banking/financial services sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in insurance law, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and contract negotiation.
- Strong understanding of insurance regulations, corporate law, and risk management practices.
- Familiarity with both local and international legal frameworks pertinent to the insurance industry.
- Outstanding leadership and team management skills.
- Superior interpersonal and communication abilities, with a proven capacity to influence and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
