Head of Accounting

Our client operates in the food and beverage industry, focusing on the production and distribution of snacks, chocolates, biscuits, and other confectionery products. They are seeking an experienced and highly organized Accounting Lead to oversee the financial reporting and accounting functions.

The Accounting Lead will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local financial regulations, implementing accounting best practices, and supporting the company’s financial strategy.

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

• Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate financial statements in accordance with Thai GAAP and USGAAP.
• Ensure compliance with all local tax laws, including VAT, corporate income tax, and withholding tax.
• Manage statutory audits, liaising with external auditors to ensure smooth and timely audit processes.

General Accounting:

• Supervise day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities and reconciliations.
• Ensure proper maintenance of financial records and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Support the finance team in preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to monitor company performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and recommendations for cost control and business efficiency improvements.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management:

• Manage cash flow and working capital, ensuring adequate liquidity for business operations.
• Oversee treasury functions, including bank reconciliations, payments, and cash management activities.

Team Leadership & Development:

• Lead and mentor the accounting team, ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations.
• Provide training and development to junior staff to improve skills and maintain high standards in financial reporting and compliance.

ERP System & Process Improvement:

• Maintain and enhance the company’s ERP system (e.g., SAP) to streamline accounting processes.
• Identify areas for improvement in accounting procedures and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

• CPA or CPD certification preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in the FMCG or manufacturing sector is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Thai GAAP, USGAAP, and local tax regulations.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, especially SAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
• Fluency in Thai and English, both written and spoken.
• Experience in leading accounting teams within multinational companies.
• Familiarity with global financial reporting standards and practices.
• Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
