About the Company
Our client is the Thailand’s leading manufacturer of steel products and distributes office furniture and furniture parts. Their product line includes desks, tables, computer workstations, cabinets, knock-down furniture systems, partitions, shelving, and document trays. The Product Development Manager will play a key role in driving the creation and evolution of our office furniture product line.
Job Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive product development strategy in line with company goals and market trends.
- Conduct market research to identify customer needs, competitor offerings, and emerging industry trends.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and inspire a cross-functional team of designers, engineers, and project managers.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on delivering high-quality, market-leading products.
Product Design and Innovation:
- Drive the development of new office furniture designs from concept to production, ensuring they meet functional, aesthetic, and cost objectives.
- Collaborate with the design team to create sketches, prototypes, and 3D models to visualize concepts.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement rigorous testing procedures to ensure the quality and durability of office furniture products.
- Collaborate with the quality control team to address any issues and continuously improve product quality.
Vendor Management:
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to source materials, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely delivery of components.
- Evaluate and select vendors based on quality, cost, and reliability.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the product development budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor project expenditures and implement cost-saving measures when necessary.
Experience requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in product development within the office furniture or related industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional creativity and ability to think outside the box.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and materials used in furniture production.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
